4WD Rental Australia
ABC Integra 4WD Vehicles
You could travel all the way around Australia sticking to bitumen roads and stopping in towns every night. But if you're the type of person who wants to experience the unique essence of Australia, you'll need a little more freedom to travel wherever you want to go. The outback is calling you. Dirt roads are calling you. Adventure is calling you.
An ABC Integra 4WD is calling you.
If you really want to get stuck into your Australian travelling and get dirty, you'll need a vehicle capable of transporting your family and heavy loads of gear over rough terrain and vast distances. You need a power packed 4WD vehicle. This way, you have access to rarely visited swimming holes, rock formations, remote outback towns, and beautiful oases hidden in sprawling desert plains.
ABC Integra offers vehicles such as the Nissan X-trail , a compact go-anywhere family 4WD with a 2.5-litre petrol engine. Or you could move into the bigger stakes with a Nissan Patrol with a 3-litre turbo diesel engine. Now we're talking real grunt! All ABC Integra 4WDs are air-conditioned so you won't swelter in the Australian heat. They have CD players to keep you entertained during your driving, and central locking to keep your valuables safe. Plenty more features can be found on our fleet page .
Of course, you don't have to take a 4WD off road. Modern 4WDs are excellent for driving through the cities of Australia and along highways.
Why is a 4WD such a good choice as a rental vehicle? Higher load capacity
If you need to lug everything except the kitchen sink during your travels, a 4WD provides a mode of transport that is perfect. (If you do need to lug the kitchen sink, try an ABC Integra campervan !) The large boot/cargo area can accommodate more gear than a regular car, and a large boot door can provide easy access to your belongings.
Greater Engine Power
Heading off road? Of course, you can't go bush in a regular vehicle, but a 4WD is ideal. 4WD engines are specially designed to have high levels of torque to propel heavy loads along rough roads, over rocky mountains and through dense jungle. You'll have peace of mind driving a rental car that you know packs all the power you need when driving into a sparsely populated area.
Tyres
The tyres on a 4WD vehicle are designed to offer good traction off road. Regular tyres, found on all standard passenger cars, are totally unsuitable when driving on dirt or rough roads. 4WD tyres, however, are ideal. Deeper traction, wider rims, and bigger overall size to provide greater ground clearance make 4WD tyres the only choice when touring Australia.
Passenger Comfort
You can be just as comfortable in a passenger car as you can be in a 4WD vehicle - but only if you stay on bitumen roads. The moment you leave the smooth paved surface and venture onto the dirt, mud and rocks, the true benefits of 4WD seating become apparent. With ample body support, overhead handles, and generous headroom, drivers and passengers on an off road adventure can stay comfortable and safe even in the most treacherous environment.
Another feature of some dirt roads in Australia is corrugations. Corrugations can cause major discomfort. Regular vehicles will be incapable of traversing corrugated roads at speeds over approximately 40km/h, but a 4WD can maintain speed and a reasonable degree of comfort. The important thing is to remain careful and don't drive beyond your own skill level.
Safety
4WDs are safe vehicles. They are large and solid, with sturdy roll bars built into their structure. There are few vehicles on the road - or off the road for that matter - as safe as a 4WD.
